Assembly Motion - Blender Add-on Documentation

📌 Overview

Assembly Motion is a Blender add-on designed to simplify the process of creating smooth, dynamic animations for objects. It automatically generates motion paths and applies natural movement effects, making it ideal for:

Object animations (flying, floating, assembling)

Dynamic transitions between scenes

Abstract motion graphics

Quick prototyping of animated sequences

Key Features:

✅ Automatic Path Generation - Creates smooth 3D curves for objects to follow

✅ Customizable Timing - Control animation speed with start/end frames

✅ Squash & Stretch - Adds organic movement effects

✅ Non-Destructive Workflow - Preserves original object transforms

✅ Easy to Use - Set up animations in just a few clicks

⚙️ Installation Guide

Step 1: Download the Add-on

Get the latest version of Assembly Motion (usually a .zip file).

Save it to a known location on your computer.

Step 2: Install in Blender

Open Blender (4.0 or newer recommended).

Go to:

Edit → Preferences → Add-ons

Click Install... and select the downloaded .zip file.

Look for it under the "Assembly Motion" tab.

🎬 Usage Guide

1. Adding an Animation

Select an object (mesh object).

In the Assembly Motion panel, click "Add Object".

The add-on will:

Generate a motion path (visible as a curve).

Set up keyframe animation.

Apply squash & stretch for natural movement.

2. Adjusting Animation Settings

Start Frame – When the animation begins.

End Frame – When the animation completes.

Playback – Press Spacebar to preview.

3. Editing the Motion Path

The generated curve can be modified like any other Blender curve:

Select the curve object (named curve of [YourObject]).

Enter Edit Mode (Tab key).

Move control points to reshape the path.

4. Removing an Animation

In the Assembly Motion panel, click the X button next to its name.

This will:

Remove the motion path.

Clear animation keyframes.

Reset the object to its original position.

⚡ Advanced Tips

Sequential Animations – Add multiple objects with offset start/end frames for staggered motion.

Graph Editor Tweaks – Fine-tune easing and timing in the Graph Editor (Ctrl+Tab → Graph Editor).

Rendering Tips – Enable Motion Blur for smoother playback in renders.
